This past weekend, we participated in the Greater DC Regional. To say that is was a nightmare is being very generous. Over the weekend, we seemed to have to fix and/or replace every part of the robot.
While we went into the weekend already knowing that we had a coding issue, we did not anticipate how severe the Labview issue was. The issue was so problematic, that we had to take on the help of a National Instruments representative, 3 members from other teams who were familiar with Labview coding, and 3 mentors from other teams that triple checked our wiring just to somewhat fix the issue.
Since the coding issue caused us to miss all of our practice matches, we didn't really get the hang of the game, the arena and the movement until the last two of our qualification matches. Our arms got damaged almost every match and because of the new rule that requires teams to get inspected every time they make a change, we were running late to almost every match (and missed one) because of the frequent changes and frequent visits to inspection. (On a personal note, I might add that the inspectors need to get on the same page but more to come about that later.)
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Teams 122, 3941 and 1731 for helping us make amazing progress this weekend.
